Quota abolition in govt service will not be challenging: Muhith

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith things that the recommendation that came for quota abolition in first and second class government service will not be challenging for its implementation.

He said this to the newsmen after holding a meeting at the meeting room of finance ministry at the secretariat on Thursday.

The quota review committee led by the Cabinet Secretary recommended for quota abolition in government recruitment from 9th to 13th grades (former 1st and 2nd class service) from the salary frame work.

The committee submitted the report to the Prime Minister one week earlier. The matter is possibly being placed in the next ministerial meeting on Monday.

The Finance Minister said, I gave my opinion to keep quota for women. But that is not going to be done. The Prime Minister denied that. She is for quota abolition.

A 11-member team of International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) met the Finance Minister at the secretariat.
