A representative team of Jatiya Oikyafront led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has submitted memorandum to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda at the Election Commission (EC).
The representative team members went to the EC building at Agargaon in the capital at 3 pm on Thursday.
Total eight demands were upheld in the memorandum. The seven Oikyafront leaders went to the EC. They were- Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Dr. Moyeen Khan, JSD President ASM Abdur Rab, Gono Forum General Secretary Mostafa Mohsin Montu, Krishak Shramik Janata League President Kader Siddique and Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna.
Earlier on Wednesday it was informed in a letter sent by Oikyafront Spokesman and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to EC that 300 candidates of Jatiya Oikyafront who participated in the eleventh national parliament election will go to the EC at 3 pm on Thursday to submit the memorandum.
But on Thursday afternoon Oikyafront move away from that decision. The new decision was taken at a meeting of sheaf of paddy candidates for the eleventh parliament election at BNP Chairperson’s political office at Gulshan in the capital in the afternoon.
