The government has announced to keep all educational institutions including qaumi madrasas closed as the coronavirus contraction rate increases. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni informed the news media about the decision highlighting the 18-point direction given by the PMO to contain the world wide pandemic.
The Education Minister said, closing educational institutions is one of the directions imposed by the government. As a result from pre-primary schools to primary schools, madrasas, secondary and higher secondary institutions, universities and coaching centers will remain closed.
She said, the government has taken the decision considering the covid-19 situation. Earlier special permission was given to keep the qawmi madrasas open but due to the current death and infection rate those will remain closed.
Schools and colleges of the country are scheduled to reopen on May 23 according to the new decision. Universities are scheduled to reopen from May 24.
Mentionable, to prevent the devastation of coronavirus the educational institutions have been closed since March 17.
