BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has asserted that counter-revolutionary forces are lurking, and the interim government led by Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus must not be allowed to fail.
Speaking at the publication event of Droher Graffiti, a book on the 2024 mass uprising, held at the National Press Club on Saturday (February 8), Rizvi stated that a conducive environment for democracy has emerged in the country.
"We will critique to ensure success, but we will not let Dr Yunus' government fail. Previously, criticizing the government meant risking enforced disappearance—now that fear no longer exists," he said.
Addressing India's media coverage of Bangladesh, Rizvi accused them of being unable to accept the country's progress. "The way Indian media is speaking in favour of Sheikh Hasina is not the language of a democratic nation," he remarked.
He further warned that counter-revolutionary forces are constantly lurking, but their efforts will not be allowed to succeed. "We must unite to fulfil the aspirations of revolution and democracy," he urged.
Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, also present at the event, claimed that a well-funded conspiracy is underway to tarnish the global image of Interim Government Chief Advisor Professor Yunus. He also alleged that there are ongoing plots against the 2024 mass uprising.
"Indian media is involved in this conspiracy," Shafiqul Alam asserted, calling for public calm amid the current political situation. "Wherever you are, stay peaceful," he urged.
He emphasized the need for unity to prevent the return of an authoritarian regime. "We must remain vigilant to ensure that the fallen government does not rise again. This message must be spread through graffiti and other means," he concluded.
