He noted that inflation has already decreased and is expected to decline further. "We anticipate better outcomes within the next five to six months," he added.

Speaking to journalists in the capital on Thursday (February 20) afternoon, the Governor stressed that maintaining the right policies is crucial for market stability. He also mentioned that the government is actively working to bring inflation below five percent.

Regarding foreign reserves, Dr Mansur stated that their decline has halted and is now gradually increasing. "Even without IMF funds, we have been able to strengthen our reserves through our own efforts," he said.

He also pointed out that remittance and export flows remain strong, eliminating concerns about reserve growth. Additionally, he reassured that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities for the upcoming Ramadan.

Addressing broader economic challenges, the Governor remarked that the combination of issues faced by Bangladesh is uncommon in other countries. He acknowledged that resolving failures in the revenue sector is a long-term process and cannot be achieved by a government within just one year.
