Band star Shafin Ahmed passes away
Renowned musician and band star Shafin Ahmed is no more. He was the iconic voice of the band Miles, passed away at the age of 63. He breathed his last this Thursday at 6:50 am Bangladeshi time at a hospital in Virginia, United States. Shafin had been an integral part of Miles since nearly its inception. He sang many popular songs such as 'Chand Tara Surjo', 'Jala Jala', 'Firiye Dao', 'Fire Ele Na', 'Aaj Jonmodin Tomar'.
His brother Hamin Ahmed confirmed about his death to the media.
He said Shafin had a concert in Virginia on July 20. He fell ill before the show. Later the show was cancelled and he was admitted to hospital. After that, when organs failed, he was taken on life support. But he could not be returned.
Hamin Ahmed also said that we have two cousins in the United States. They are now with Shafin. I will leave Dhaka for America soon. After that Shafin's body will be brought to the country.
Incidentally, in 1979, 'Miles', one of the most popular bands in Bangladesh, was formed. After some time, Shafin Ahmed joined in it and delivered many legendary songs.
