Oscar-winning Indian musician AR Rahman has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after experiencing severe chest pain. He was taken to the hospital on Sunday morning (March 16), where a team of doctors conducted initial tests.
According to Indian media reports, Rahman underwent an angiogram at a hospital on Grims Road in Chennai. He is currently under close medical observation.
Sources indicate that Rahman recently returned from abroad with complaints of neck pain. Following medical advice, he visited the hospital for a check-up, which led to his admission.
In a separate incident last year, news of Rahman's divorce from his wife, Saira Banu, shocked fans. After 29 years of marriage, the couple decided to part ways, a decision their lawyer described as heartbreaking. Following the separation, Rahman shared an emotional post expressing his regret that they couldn't reach 30 years together.
Coincidentally, Saira Banu was also hospitalized last week. Her lawyer confirmed that she underwent surgery.
