A mild heatwave is currently sweeping across seven districts in the country and may continue, according to the Meteorological Department.
In its 72-hour forecast issued at 9 am on Thursday (March 27), the department reported that an extended low-pressure system is present over West Bengal and surrounding areas, while the seasonal low-pressure system remains over the southern Bay of Bengal.
As a result, the weather across the country is expected to remain dry, with partly cloudy skies for the next 24 hours. However, mild heatwave conditions are affecting Rajshahi, Rangamati, Feni, Sitakunda, Jashore, Bagerhat, and Patuakhali, and these conditions are likely to persist.
Furthermore, the forecast predicts that from Friday morning for the following 48 hours, the country's weather will remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies, while both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
