Mirpur Ex-DC Arrested As First Accused Under Warrant
Jasim Uddin Molla, former DC (Deputy Commissioner) of Mirpur, the accused under the arrest warrant in the mass uprising of the students, has been arrested from Rangpur.
Jasim Uddin's lawyer Kazi Elias-Ur-Rahman confirmed the matter on Wednesday (October 30).
It is known that Jasim Uddin is being brought to the tribunal from Rangpur. He has been accused of killing 150 people.
Advocate Abdullah Al Noman, the prosecutor of the tribunal, said that Jasim, the former DC of Mirpur, accused of the July massacre, has been arrested. He will appear before the tribunal on Wednesday (October 30).
Jasim Uddin was attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office.
Earlier, on October 17, the tribunal issued an arrest warrant against 46 people including Sheikh Hasina.
On October 27, a three-judge tribunal ordered to produce 20 people arrested in various cases.
Former Minister Anisul Huq, Abdur Razzak, Dipu Moni, Faruk Khan, and 14 others were ordered to appear on November 18. On November 20, former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun, former army officer Ziaul Ahsan, and 6 others were ordered to appear.
Apart from this, arrest warrants were issued against 17 police officers including former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman that day.
