Professor Asif Nazrul, the Law Advisor to the Interim Government said that all political parties in Bangladesh have strongly condemned and expressed outrage over the attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Tripura, India.

On Wednesday afternoon (December 4), a meeting was held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka between political parties and the Chief Advisor to the interim government. Following the meeting, Professor Asif Nazrul briefed journalists.

Earlier, on Tuesday evening (December 3), the Chief Advisor had a meeting with leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement at State Guest House Jamuna. On Thursday, he is scheduled to meet with religious community leaders.

Notably, after Sheikh Hasina stepped down amid a mass uprising and fled to India on August 5, an interim government was formed under the leadership of Dr Yunus. Since then, relations between Bangladesh and India have experienced tension.

Indian media have been accused of publishing false and exaggerated reports on various issues, including the persecution of Bangladesh's Hindu minority. Bangladesh has consistently protested these allegations. Tensions escalated further when Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson for the Sanatan Jagaran Jote, was arrested on charges of desecrating the national flag. His bail application was denied, and in retaliation, his followers reportedly attacked and killed.

Before this incident could settle, an attack on December 2 targeted Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission office in Agartala by a Hindu group. Described as a "premeditated" act, the attack provoked a "furious response" from Bangladesh.

Amid these developments, the Chief Advisor Dr Yunus has called for national unity.
